Yes, we strongly recommend making an appointment to ensure availability. You can do so by calling or texting us. 972.388.6279
We use high-quality hair products from reputable brands such as Liscio, Yuko, Matrix, Redken, and Brazilian Blowout. Keep in mind that although proven brands are important due to consistency of product and performance, the best results depend greatly upon a seasoned and committed stylist with a commitment to excellence. such as Michelle Moore who has 22 years' experience in Japanese Straightening and Mitchell Alan who aspires to open a top producing Salon in Dallas. The brand which will deliver the best results for your hair will be the determining factor in which brand is selected.
No. Japanese Permanent Hair Straightening contains two ingredients. One is Thioglycolate Acid which has been used in the salon industry safely for over 80 years. It's the same ingredient in your grandmother's curly perm. the only difference is the technique to create straight hair makes the hair shine and truly permanently restructures your hair to straight.
Only Brazilian Blowout and Keratin treatments contain ingredients that produce formaldehyde upon heat from the ironing step.
Yes! JPHS is revolutionary and it is life changing.
Beware, though, if you price shop for budget services, you might end up getting a relaxer instead, without being told. Relaxers are not permanent and cause considerable damage to your hair. The two services don't mix. Many salons will agree to "straighten" your hair for a low rate, but beware. It is often a relaxer, not Japanese Permanent Hair Straightening. This happens more than people know.
If you receive a relaxer and later try to get your new growth permanently straightened, there will be considerable and irreversible damage.
Only Japanese Permanent Straightening, also known as ReBonding is truly permanent. Make sure you choose a reputable salon and stylist.
Yes, you can. I remove curly perms and restore straight hair all the time. If you want to go back to your natural pattern, I will give you a referral for the best curly perm stylist I have ever seen.
Yes. Michelle will do your Japanese Straightening, then Mitchell Alan will do your Brazilian. Just let us know when you are ready to book an appointment.
I prefer that you wait at least 6 months. I understand if you have exceptionally curly hair and want to return sooner. the average between services is between 12 to 18 months for most clients.
If we choose to, we can color the same day as the neutralizer is the same thing as color develope. This means it causes no extra stress to the hair as I only add color pigment to my neutralizer.
We can go up to 2 shades lighter safely, darker, or match your natural color. If we don't color the same day, it is recommended to wait about 2 weeks before you dye your hair to allow your cutucle layer of your hair strands to rest and strengthen.
Most Straightenings take no less than 4 hours. Resistant hair can take up to 7 hours. I've seen afro hair take 9 hours, though. I will schedule enough time, but the service cannot be rushed without less than desirable results. I have formulas that work faster than others and I can use a processor to accelerate or even out the processing time. The best results require lower temperatures and slower processing if possible.
More to come!!
