You have an appointment, What's Next?

Please text or call us at 972.388.6279 if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Yes.  Dress comfortably, but please do not wear anything with a bulky collar, hoodie, or delicate, expensive clothing.  You will be sitting for a long time so you'll want to be comfortable, but bulky clothing will interfere with proper fit in the shampoo bowl and the service, itself, when I the solutions are applied to your hair.

We offer complimentary cappuccino, lattes, coffee, and filtered water, as well as vending machines for drinks and snacks.  Feel free to bring your own or have some delivered.

Yes, of course, but the space in the suite is limited, so we can place a chair in the corner or they can feel more comfortable in the lobby where there is more room and more comfortable seating.  It is important that we are allowed to work without delay or interruption.  Once the service begins, there are time sensitive steps where another person's presence can have effect your results negatively.  Please come prepared to allow your specialist time and space to focus and work.

Your specialist will use the brand most appropriate for the best results for your hair.  Liscio and Yuko are the preferred brands, but each have their own application.

We believe you have the right to know what is used on your hair, we will make the ultimate decision on which formula is used as we have the experience and knowledge needed to make the best decision for great results.

APPLICATION

It will be applied according to varied hair canvasses of your hair to achieve even results.  It can be complicated, but your professional has extensive experience in recognizing and identifying these based on the consultation and cues.

The product cannot be applied to close to the scalp as it will result in hair breakage at the scalp.  Each client's hair type is taken into account to determine the distance of application.

Hair around the perimeter is more delicate and will be treated differently.  It is never advisable to attempt to change the direction of the hair growth or go against cowlicks as breakage will likely occur, but would also result in unsightly grow-out of the hair in that area.

Your hair will be processed until the bonds break so that your hair pattern can be rearranged for soft, straight hair.

  • A processor may be used for strong curl patterns.  It is critical that you do not touch your hair, attempt to press or smear the solution onto hair closer to your scalp.  This will cause breakage and may blister your scalp.
  • You must remain sitting upright in the chair so that the processor can be focused on appropriate areas to get even results.  It is important that you do not slouch or attempt to get other areas closer to the processor.  If you have concerns, please share it with your specialist for clarification.

ANY attempt to affect the outcome of the results by refusing to cooperate will cause less than desirable or even negative results.   Your specialist will attempt to mitigate the situation if she sees you doing so.

*However, in an extreme situation, If you refuse to cooperate, your specialist may terminate the service after rinsing and rebonding your hair.  If this occurs, you will still be responsible for paying for the complete service.

This is a CRITICAL step of the treatment.  It is necessary to remove all the solution out of your hair.  The solution has a flash point lower than the temperature of the iron.  Leaving a small amount inside the strands will result in less than sleek, shiny, smooth results.

Shampoo is not recommended at this stage as it will disturb and damage the cuticle of the hair at this point.  The cuticle is vulnerable and weak at this stage; rinsing should be gentle and thorough.

This is when the fun part begins!

Your hair will likely have some remaining pattern as is expected at this point as the bonds have only been broken at this point.  This leaves your hair structure in a state best described as, "change-able."  Just relax and watch as your specialist uses a very specific technique and methods relative to their training and experience to create the straight, smooth hair you are looking forward to.

Timing of how dry it gets, tension of the brush and iron, your hair's porosity level, thickness, pattern strength and more are all factored in for the best results.  Please don't worry or become critical of what you see at this point.  Your hair is being re-structured and straight hair is a result of this detailed step.  Please relax and allow the specialist to focus without interruption.

Please keep in mind that all stylists have their own techniques and you should never expect your specialist to attempt to duplicate your previous stylists' techniques.  Every technique encompasses many factors but also take extensive experience to develop.  Each stylist had their own techniques which will be utilized based on your hair, alone.

This is when neutralizer is applied to your hair to re-bond the structure of the hair so that it becomes permanent.

The neutralizer is a weak solution of Hydrogen Peroxide. It will be applied directly to your scalp to ensure that any scant of remaining product is neutralized and all your hair is re-bonded.

Hydrogen peroxide is essentially, water and oxygen.  It is a gentle, low volume solution.  It works on contact but may be left on for just a few minutes to ensure thorough penetration of each strand for proper neutralizing.

The neutralizer will be rinsed, followed by a light conditioner and final quick rinse.

Your hair will be blow dried and for the final result!

You can wait 48-72 hours to shampoo your hair to allow the cuticle to harden for strand strength, though nothing you do when you leave (outside of applying an alkaline solution product) will cause any pattern to return or newly create pattern.

it is only when the neutralizing is skipped that this step applies as it takes the ambient oxygen in the air longer to penetrate the hair, whereas hydrogen peroxide penetrates quickly and re-bonds on contact.
